Wapiti Woods - Guest Cabins
- Our six guest cabins opened in October, 2003 and offer modern and comfortable conveniences. The rustic, knotty pine cabins are located in a secluded forested section of Bennett's Valley in Benezette Township, Elk County along the Bennett Branch of Sinnemahoning Creek. Our cabins are located in the PA Wilds and PA Elk Country along the Elk Scenic Drive and border the Moshannon State Forest.
The cabins come complete with full kitchens, indoor woodburner, bathroom with shower, indoor and outdoor furnishings, fire ring with both griddle and grill top and cooking utensils not to mention mountain pie irons and provided firewood. The cabins are also fully furnished with quality, local made furniture.
The cabins can accommodate from 2 to 8 people depending on your needs and desires. An added plus for the two 2-person cabins is the placement of a two person whirlpool tub in front of the cabin woodburner - just right for that escape from the outside world.
On-site amenities include a utility "Shanty" with a washer/dryer, telephone and internet hook-up, TV with VCR/DVD; games,books and movies; a old RR bed along the creek for leisurely walks; and picnic pavilion. Each cabin also has a porch swing and picnic table with lantern holder.
Our central location along the Elk Scenic Drive, in the heart of PA Elk Country and the PA Wilds, also allows our cabins to act as a perfect base camp to explore and enjoy all that our area has to offer. Wildlife and bird watching (including the local elk herd), hiking and biking, canoeing, the Groundhog Wine Trail, local shops, historic Ridgway, Clarion River/Little Toby Creek Rail to Trail, scenic road tours, historic sites and other short distance destinations like the Zippo Factory in Bradford, the Straub Brewery in St. Marys. the PA Lumber Museum and antique shops along with several local state parks provide you with plenty of activities to choose from. Or you may just decide to relax on our grounds, dally in the creek, enjoy a nice fire, kick back with a good book or cuddle up with your loved ones. Lodge Rooms (sleep 6) - $74-$104/night depending on time of year.
